OCEAN STAR 200C
The Ocean Star 200C embodies Mido's desire to consistently offer cutting-edge technology, the best materials at the most competitive price. The model has a striking new face with a rotating ceramic bezel, one of the most famous materials in watchmaking. The automatic Caliber 80 movement and water resistance up to 200 meters offer impressive technical performance.
With its new green dial and sporty look reminiscent of the marine depths, the Ocean Star 200C combines the performance of ceramic with technology on the wrist.
Here, the ceramic ring adopts a bright green shade – a completely new colour for the Swiss watchmaker – which can also be found on the matt dial decorated with a rippled texture, completing the new, distinctive face of the Ocean Star 200C.

At Europe's southernmost tip stands the Europa Point Lighthouse, an architectural construction built to withstand any storm that has watched over the Gibraltar Strait unfailingly since 1841. Its powerful beam of light helps sailors to find their bearings on the often-rough waters between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Created by Mido in 1944, the Ocean Star collection is characterised by its reliability, just like this monument, built to safely guide men as they embark on new maritime conquests.

With 60-minute graduations around its edge, the rotating bezel – whose exceptionally scratch-resistant ring is in high-tech ceramic – can be used to count time intervals. Thanks to the white Super-LumiNova® on the indexes, hands, and the marker at 12 o’clock on the bezel, each of these indications can be read perfectly whether in broad daylight or in the dark.

Ceramic: one of the most outstanding materials used in watchmaking
Ceramic is a non-metallic mineral material that undergoes a specific treatment in a high temperature environment. Many types of ceramics exist, each with their own unique properties suited to a variety of applications, from medicine to watchmaking. Ceramic is scratch resistant, hypoallergenic and resistant to all types of chemical attacks, as well as high temperatures, friction and abrasion. High-tech ceramics combine timeless elegance with distinct sophistication, belying their practically unmatched solidity.
